Japanese Foundation Test - JFT
The Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese ( abbreviation : JFT-Basic ) measures the Japanese language ability necessary for communication in daily life situations encountered by foreigners who come to Japan primarily for work. The purpose of this test is to determine whether a person has the ability to carry out daily conversations to a certain extent and not interfere with daily life. This test is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR ) and the Japan Foundation’s “Japanese for Mutual Understanding” philosophy, which is based on the CEFR . Based on the idea of the JF Standard, which was developed as a framework for language education , we measure “what and how much you can do in Japanese.”
